Volunteer and Service

Smoky Mountain Area Rescue Ministries offers a way for many to have the opportunity to participate in one of the spiritual disciplines – that of service.

Words cannot describe how thankful we are for the three days and countless hours the Saint Paul Mission Group from Waseca, Minnesota spent assisting SMARM in our current location and our new location.

As the cross is the sign of submission, so the towel is the sign of service. At the Last Supper Jesus took a towel and basin and redefined greatness by washing the feet of his disciples. Having lived out servant-hood before them, he called them to the way of service: “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed
your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.”

Volunteers also help organize and distribute items for “Adopt-A-Family” at Christmas.  This is an annual event for SMARM as we help with Christmas items for children
