“STREAMS OF MERCY”
Set of Prints continue to benefit SMARM for
“Streams of Mercy”G. Webb
In 2002, Gatlinburg artist G. Webb was approached by the SMARM board to interpret SMARM’s “Streams of Mercy” theme. G. Webb not only interpreted the “Streams of Mercy” theme, but asked his daughter, Cami (12 years old at the time), to collaborate with him on painting and then create a piece of her own.
G. Web created his painting first and then took a small portion of it and magnified it 70 times. Cami took the small portion of her Dad’s painting and brought it to life, creating “Faithful Friends”.
The two paintings together have, over the past 12 years, helped interpret SMARM in our community. We have used the paintings and note cards as gifts to our sponsors and SMARM continues to sell the framed and unframed prints along with the note cards.
G. Webb and daughter Cami, created two pieces of art that fit so well with what we are trying to say to the people who are helped by SMARM. The stream of God’s mercy is overflowing and we want people to see that the love and concern SMARM feels for them is overflowing. The painting “Faithful Friends” reminds us daily that we will always be Faithful Friends to the people we serve and to God.
Prints, framed prints and boxes of notecards continue to be available at the SMARM office in Sevierville
